illustration & visual narrative

So for Illustration and Visual Narrative, we're supposed to work on a project; metamorphosis. I'm still not very sure what I'm going to choose for my subject. When we had to discuss in groups with Hafiz, I thought of doing of doing either Kurt Cobain or Lady Gaga or um... Julian Casablancas. Or Michael Jackson. And then suddenly, this weird idea comes up when we were discussing - hair. So I started brainstorming (or attempted to) and I guess I have a little bit of inspiration now. But then I still feel like I want to change my subject, especially if I'm going to be doing a Chiaroscuro theme, and thats what we're supposed to do, according to the brief, so... I think I'd prefer it if my subject was an actual person rather than a... thing? Besides, hair would be a tough thing to trace with the pen tool. I think I'd die suffering. Unless we're allowed to draw it out with a tablet? Hmm... I wonder.

I think I might pick certain decades since every decade obviously has a certain hairstyle that's trending. But then again, that sounds too boring. I tried to find more inspiration and stuff and I found this video:

I definitely like how it started from a caveman girl(?) with caveman-hair so I think I might use that as a start.
